MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
PLANNING COMMISSION
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
JUNE 8, 1995
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular
meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of
Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 8th day of
June, 1995 in the Council Chambers of the City Center
located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City.
Chairman Gene DeLonais Keis called the meeting to order
at 7:30 P.M. and the following members of the
Commission were present at roll call:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Gene DeLonais
Mr. Scott Barraclough
Mr. Dennis Carson
Mr. Steve Garske
Mr. John Keis
Mr. Dan Knudsen
MEMBERS EXCUSED: Mr. Fred Schletty
ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner
Mrs. Kathy Glanzer, Admin. Asst.
MINUTES There being no corrections to the minutes of May 11,
1995 workshop meeting and May 11, 1995 regular meeting,
those minutes stood approved as submitted.
WATER The City Planner reported that the St. Paul Water
DEPARTMENT Department is considering the sale of land within
PROPERTY Little Canada, and have asked for the City's comments.
Specifically, they want to know the type of land usage
the City would like to see for this property. The
Planner pointed out that the property is zoned B -3.
Keis felt the area along Spruce Street was a good one
for office /warehouse development, while the site on
Rice Street would make a good corporate office building
site. Keis asked if the City would buy the site and
then turn it around. Owning the site would give the
City more control over how it is developed.
Knudsen did not believe the City had to own the site to
control its development. Knudsen pointed out that the
frontage on Rice Street was prime property.
1
PAGE 3
