Hanson <br />Notice is hereby given that bids will be received, opened and read aloud in the Council Chambers of the City of Little Canada, <br />located at 515 East Little Canada Road, on the 15th day of July, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. for bituminous sealcoat on selected City <br />streets. <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR SEALCOATING STREETS <br />1. Sealcoat shall be applied in accordance with Minnesota D.O.T. Spec. No. 2356. <br />2. Cost Der square yard for sealcoating includes: <br />• Street sweeping before sealcoating. <br />♦ Sealcoating. <br />♦ Removal of all surplus aggregate from sealcoat operations from City (including any unused FA -2 <br />aggregate stored at City site). <br />3. Bituminous material shall be CRS -2. <br />4. Aggregate - FA -2 granite Class A crushed aggregate shall be used on the selected streets. The Contractor <br />may use the FA -2 aggregate currently stored at the City. Approximately 450 ton of unscreened and <br />unwashed material is available. This material will need to be screened and washed prior to use. Cost to use <br />City aggregate to be given on separate line on bid form. Recycled FA -2 granite may be used if it is screened <br />and washed. Cost to use recycled aggregate to be given on separate line on bid form. <br />5. Work to be completed within the timeframe of July 26, 1999 to I • 27; 199. frepA /p , SIY <br />6. The City reserves the right to increase or decrease sealcoat yardage. <br />7. Furnish a certificate of insurance and performance bond when bid is accepted. <br />8. All bids must be on proposal forms furnished by the City and shall be accompanied by a certified check or <br />bidders bond in the amount of 5% (5 percent) of the amount of the bid. <br />9. All manholes and gate valves must be protected with sand. <br />10. All surplus aggregate from sealcoat operations shall be removed from City including any remaining unused <br />FA -2 aggregate stored at City site. <br />The City Council reserves the right to retain the deposit of the three lowest bidders for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days <br />after the date of opening the bids. Bids shall be directed to the Public Works Director, securely sealed and endorsed upon <br />outside wrapper of a brief statement for which the bid is made. <br />Tex City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive irregularities and informalities therein and further <br />reserfes the right to award the contract in the best interest of the City. <br />Page 39 <br />
