Resolution declared adopted. <br />STAFF REPORTS <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCIL WATER EFFICIENCY GRANT PROGRAM <br />The Utility Billing/Administrative Support Specialist presented a request for the city to submit a Water <br />Efficiency Grant application. He provided background information on the grant program and reviewed <br />a history of funds that have been received through the project and program requirements. He reviewed <br />the proposed program design, including residential incentives, commercial and municipal incentives, <br />and marketing and promotion. He reviewed the next steps and recommended approval as presented. <br />Kwapick asked for more information on the previous program details and the 14 reimbursements that <br />occurred. The Utility Billing/Administrative Support Specialist replied that those were all residential <br />properties, with the most common project being toilet replacement. He stated that commercial and <br />municipal is a new category. He commented that they will be advertising the program in a utility <br />billing insert to reach more households. <br />Kwapick asked if there is an estimate on how much of the funding is anticipated to be used for <br />residential versus commercial or municipal. The Utility Billing/Administrative Support Specialist <br />provided more information on the estimates that he placed on the program application. <br />Miller asked if the same household could receive funds for both a toilet replacement and washer <br />replacement. <br />The Utility Billing/Administrative Support Specialist replied that previously, there was a limit of two <br />applications per household, which will continue. He noted that a separate application would be <br />required for each project. <br />Malone asked for more information on what occurs if there are funds left unspent. The Utility <br />Billing/Administrative Support Specialist provided additional information, noting that quarterly <br />reporting is required, and the program then reimburses the funds that have been spent. <br />Kwapick introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />TUFF <br />wat' ` <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Miller. <br />Ayes (4).
