MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhall @ci.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, Deputy Clerk
DATE: October 21, 1999
RE: Development Deferral — 427 Viking Drive — Roland L'Allier
Mr. Roland L'Allier owns a lot on Viking Drive that has 190.45 feet of frontage. Under
the City's assessment policy, Mr. L'Allier would be assessed the full frontage for street
and two water main connections given his lot is subdividable.
Mr. L'Allier has made application for deferral of that portion of his assessment that
would apply to the second lot. Under the provisions of the assessment policy,
assessments for the maximum street frontage of 125 feet would be levied along with one
water main connection ($10,560.00). Development deferral is an option for 65.45 feet of
street frontage and the second water main connection ($7,880.25).
Interest would accrue on the deferred portion of the assessment at the rate of 7 %. It is
staff's recommendation that the development deferral be approved as requested.
PAGE 208
