MINUTES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 22, 2012 Thunder Bay Park — interpretive signage — estimated cost $5,000. Sanders indicated that the signage would extend along the powerline corridor and discuss how electrical service is provided to properties. Xcel Energy may be interested in funding or participating in the cost of this signage. The Administrator indicated that staff can plug these parks and trail improvements into the Capital Improvement Plan to see the impact of these projects on the Capital Improvement Budget. Once that impact is known, the Council can decide whether or not the levy should be increased to help fund these projects. The Administrator noted that in addition to these top 10 projects, there is also the $81,000 estimate for the Little Canada Road project and $300,000 for the Rice Street Phase II project. It was also pointed out that the Waterworks Trail project is on the Council's regular agenda for discussion this evening. The Council's consensus was that these top ten projects should be programmed into the Capital Improvement Plan over the next 6 years. The City Administrator indicated that various scenarios would be put together relative to the projects and the funding options. The Director asked that the Park Land Acquisition Fund be a consideration in the funding options. The Administrator suggested that once the information is put together, another workshop be scheduled for additional review. The Director noted that LCRA may be willing to help with funding. The Administrator suggested that the Director present the list to LCRA to determine if they have any interest in funding a project or two. The Council thanked the Commission for their work in developing the priority ranking. The Commission will be notified when a second workshop is scheduled.
