MINUTES <br />City Council <br />(Conttd.) <br />August 3, 1979 <br />Mr. Deface introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79- 8 -371t - APPROVING ThZ ADDITION OF <br />STORAGE SPACE TO THE COIN CO SHOES BUTDI G AND <br />GRANTING A REAR YARD SET BAC2 VARIANCE OF APPROXIMATED' <br />15 FEET TO CONN CO SHOES FOR TIE STORAGE SPACE ADDITION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Nadeau. <br />Ayes (3) Deface, Nadeau, and Hanson. <br />Nayes (2) Fahey, and Scalze. <br />Resolution adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Sook No. 5, Pages 253 and 254. <br />Shopping Mr. Jim Meyer, owner of the shopping center located at Little <br />Center Canada Road and Lakeshore, appeared before the Council and requested <br />Expansion approval of the expansion of the parking lot. Mr. Meyer has the <br />Little opportunity to purchase LO feet of residential property on the north <br />Canada Rd. side of the shopping center for additional parking. <br />and <br />Lakeshore Council pointed out to Mr. Meyer that the LO feet of property was <br />zoned residential and would have to be rezoned in order to be used <br />for parking. The Council did not feel it in the best interests of <br />the City to do spot rezoning. <br />Mr. Nadeau introduced the following resolution and :roved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79 -8 -375 - DENYING ThE Z PANSION OF <br />THE PARKING LOT OF THE SHOPPLNG CENTER LOCATED AT <br />LITTLE CANADA ROAD AND LAacSHORE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Nadeau, Fahey, Hanson, Scaize, and DeEace. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 5, Page 2511. <br />Carpet City Mr. George Childs appeared before the Council requesting approval of <br />Building an 18 foot addition to his Carpet City building. Council pointed out <br />Expansion to Mr. Childs that the addition to the Carpet City building did not <br />meet rear yard setback requirements. <br />Ed r?cCanber Mr. McCuunber had previously presented a plan to the City for the <br />iijI ni Storage construction of a racquet court and has now presented plans to the <br />Building gunning Commission for the construction of a mini- storage building <br />in lieu of the racquet court. The property on which Mr. McCumber <br />wishes to build the mini- storage building abutts residential property <br />on the South. <br />Council felt it advisable to have the recommendations of the City <br />Plnnner on the development of a mini- storage building on this <br />parti.c &ln' piece of property. <br />Page 8 <br />
