MINUTES <br />City Council <br />May 9, 1984 <br />Bridge <br />Widening <br />(Cont.) <br />Art Ryan <br />Building <br />Review <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 9 <br />Mr. Van Berkom explained that the project will run over two years time. <br />Van Berkom stated that the bridge will have two lanes open at all times. <br />Mrs. Scalze asked if the bridge will handle the traffic in the year <br />2000. Mr. Van Berkom replied that it will. Van Berkom stated that <br />he doubted that anyone would want more bridge than this. <br />Mr. Van Berkom also explained that the bridge will have a two —lane <br />on —ramp. <br />Mr. Van Berkom stated that the project does require local funds and <br />pointed out that the Federal Government is very generous in this. <br />Mrs. Nardini introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84 -5 -210 — INSTRUCTING THE CITY <br />CLERK TO SEND A LETTER TO ROBERT ORTH REGARDING <br />POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL COUNTY AND VADNAIS HEIGHTS <br />COST PARTICIPATION IN THE WIDENING PROJECT OF <br />THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD BRIDGE OVER 35E <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Forsberg. <br />Ayes (5) Nardini, Forsberg, Fahey, Hanson, Scalze. <br />Hayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 11, Page 226. <br />Mr. Art Ryan presented building plans for Council review. <br />Mrs. Scalze expressed concern to Mr. Ryan about the outdoor storage in <br />his industrial park. <br />Mr. Ryan pointed out that up until now the City did not enforce the <br />Code on this. Mr. Ryan stated that after a building is sold in <br />his park, he does not have control. Mr. Ryan pointed out that he <br />takes care of the two buildings that he owns. Mr. Ryan stated that <br />he has talked to the building owners, but he cannot demand anything <br />of them. <br />Mr. Fahey commented that the City cannot ask Mr. Ryan to enforce the <br />City's code. Mrs. Nardini commented that the City will begin enforcing <br />this code. <br />Mr. Ryan explained that the building he is proposing is for the transfer <br />of materials from semis to panel trucksand some cabinet repair. <br />Mr. Forsberg commented that the building would not be required to be <br />sprinklered. Mr. Ryan replied that this is correct. <br />Page 10 <br />
