November 12, 1999
Ms. Elizabeth Mursko
Zoning Administrator
Code Enforcement
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Rd.
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Ms. Mursko
7RANSPORTA71ON
SYSTEMS, INC.
Thank you very much for spending the time with me on the telephone discussing the zoning
problem we currently have with the vacant lot next to our office/warehouse facility located in
Little Canada. It came as a total surprise to us when we received notification from our
landlord that we must move the trailers that we have parked on the lot next to our Facility.
We are currently renting on a month- to-month basis the space on this lot until construction
begins to develop the property. We have been totally unaware of the communication that the
city has had with Azure Properties going back to January of this year. I am quite frankly very
disappointed in Mr. Scheme that he has chosen to wait until this late in the year to notify us of
his letter to the city agreeing to move our trailers by the end of this year.
Our current lease with Mr. Schuette and Azure Properties expires on December 31, 2000.
We have every hope that we can stay in Little Canada when our lease expires. We have
made numerous inquiries of businesses in Little Canada to let us park 15 -20 trailers on their
property. As of this date, we have had no luck. I would respectfully request the City Council
to grant us an extension until our current lease expiration of a variance to the current zoning
code. Our trailers are all less than two years old and are not a visual deterioration of the
area.
We have every hope that the City of Little Canada will understand our dilemma as well share
our desire to have Satum Transportation stay long -term in the City.
I will await the final decision of the City Council.
Sincer
P.
