We called the
building inspector repeatedly and asked him to come over to our house and inspect the
mess that Larry Lee had left along all four sides of our property, especially, the side that
borders Yorkton Ridge. We also wanted to talk to him about the fence that was suppose
to be put up and never was.
Finally, on March 13, 1990 we wrote a letter to the Mayor (Fahey) and council members
requesting that the Mayor or a City Council Member come over and inspect this property
as the building inspector would not come. After that letter was sent and received the
building inspector finally came over and informed us that he would see that the mess was
cleaned up, however, it was too bad about the fence as the bond moony for the project
had been returned. He said the City could do nothing about the fence.
We talked to our attorney recently and he said we should have called him at that time as
the City of Little Canada should not have let Larry Lee move the house until the fence was
installed. As far is our Attorney is concerned the City of Little Canada still owes us a
fence.
Our Attorney suggested we make a deal with the City, that they forgive the assessments
and we will forget about the fence. The assessments are $1,464. The estimate for the
fence was $2,133.71 in 1989.
We really don't want to hire an Attorney to help settle this matter. We would be will
willing to forget the fence if the City would be willing to forgive the assessments. Please
advise.
Sincerely,
Marcel and Elaine Zoch
2945 Condit Street
Little Canada, MN 55117
Page 91
