U S WEST Wireless, LLC.
426 North Fairview, Room 101
St. Paul, MN 55104
Tile's batten rhers'
City of Little Canada
Attn: Ms. Kathy Glanzer
Deputy Clerk
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
March 25, 1999
RE: Additional submittal requirements for CUP Application for a fifty- eight (58)
foot US West Wireless antenna support system to be used for PCS services,
located at 300 Little Canada Road East, Little Canada, MN. Zoned B -3
Site No. MIN -242
Dear Ms. Glanzer
US West Wireless has been asked to provide additional documentation regarding the
suitability of five existing structures within the city as locations for US West's proposed
facility. Those locations include the following five locations.
1. Aerial / APT monopole located at 53 S. Owasso Blvd.
This monopole is currently loaded to capacity by Aerial, Sprint, Nextei and a paging
company. According to the tower owner, Aerial / APT, the structure is at capacity.
The contact for Aerial is Mr. Jeff Petersen at 612/ 8334102. Jeff is a project
manager with Aerial / APT.
2. The Little Canada Fire Hall.
This structure is only thirty feet tall. In order for this structure to work, an extension
of twenty -five feet would have to be added. This would be extremely obtrusive and
not in the best interest of the City of Little Canada, the neighborhood or US West
Wireless. In fact, most zoning ordinances in the Metro Area limit antennas to no
more than fifteen feet above the roof of an existing structure.
The other three sites to be evaluated were the Little Canada Water Tower, 39 Viking
Drive and 5 E. Co. Rd. B. These sites were evaluated by Mr. Dan Weisenburger, who is a
member of US West Wireless's engineering team.
