B. MCMENEMY STREET
Starting at Little Canada Road it appears that concrete curb and gutter could be
added to McMenemy Street down to approximately Sextant Avenue.
McMenemy Street also has areas with bituminous curbing, these would be
relatively easy to replace with concrete curb and gutter. There are a number of
driveways along McMenemy Street that appear relatively flat and may pose a
challenge to adding the concrete curb and gutter. South of Sextant Avenue,
McMenemy becomes more of a rural roadway with much of the adjacent
property dropping away from the road. There are few single family homes with
the exception of the newly planed area down near Viking Drive.
To further analyze the adding of concrete curb and gutter to these two roadways, it would be
necessary to send a survey crew out to shoot the centerline grade and the flat driveways and/or
low yard areas adjacent to the road. Once the survey shots are taken they would have to be
plotted up and a detailed analysis of the impacts to driveways and adjacent yards of adding
concrete curb and gutter performed in the office. If ultimately the City decides to add
concrete curb and gutter prior to Ramsey County's recycling of the roadways, I do not
envision detailed plan sheets being prepared, but rather a working design which would be
staked in the field and then the curb and gutter installed according to the construction stakes.
I hope rhis provides you with adequate information to present this issue to the City Council.
Please advise us how you would like us to proceed on this issue.
Sincerely,
Howard R.
