MAY -14 -1999 1027 NRC
4.0""o,
Minnesota Department of Transportation
612 595 9837 P.02/02
Metropolitan Division
Waters Edge
1500 West County Woad 82
Roseville, MN 55113
April26, 1999
Joel Hanson
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Joel Hanson:
SUBJECT: Rice Street Project
Site Plan Review S99 -024
East of Trunk Highway (TH) 49 and South of Century Drive
Little Canada, Ramsey County
C.S. 6214
The Minnesota Department of Transportation ( Mn/DOT) has reviewed the Rice Street Project site
plan. We find the plan acceptable for further development with consideration of the following
comments.
• We will allow only one access to TH 49. This access must be anywhere south of the existing
northbound right turn lane. We require a MmDOT permit for the access to TH 49. We will
require construction of a right turn lane on northbound TH 49 for permit approval. This
development proposal necessitates the tum lane and is the responsibility of the project proposer,
the city, or both. In addition, we can address issues regarding utility relocations through this
permit process. Please contact Keith Van Wagner of our Permits Section at 651 -582 -1443 for
details regarding this permit and specifications for the right tum lane.
Existing drainage patterns and systems affecting Mn/DOT right of way must be perpetuated.
Existing runoff rates must be maintained, if future development is anticipated to affect the
right of way, we will need to review grading and drainage plans to determine if a storm water
permit is needed.
Please contact me at 651 -582 -1654 with any questions.
Sincerely,
Scott Peters
Senior Transportation Planner /Local Govermnent Liaison
c: Dan Soler, Ramsey County Traffic Engineer
Greg Olson, Passe Engineering
An equal opportunity employer
Page 9
RECEIVED MA - 3 1999
TOTAL P.02
