Donates Life Saving Equipment to Local Fire Department
Little Canada
Friday June 25, 1999
The Little Canada Fire Department will receive a donation of $10,000 to be used toward
the purchase of a hand held - thermal- imaging camera. The camera is designed for use in
detecting victims in smoke - filled buildings. In smoke, fire, darkness and poor - visibility
conditions, the camera can show you where casualties are, locate the seat of the fire , and any
potential hot spots. This camera will enable the fire department to rescue potential fire victims
faster, put out fires quicker, and do less property damage.
There will be a presentation ceremony on Friday June 25, 1999 at 11:00 A.M. at the
St. Jude Carbon Tech Facility located at 177 E. Co. Rd. B Little Canada. This presentation will
be in conjunction with St. Jude's celebration of manufacturing their 500,000"' mechanical heart
valve at the Little Canada facility. This donation is one of the many examples of St. Jude's
commitment to community involvement.
PAGE 1
