The existing driveway width on Spruce Street is 48 feet wide. It is
my understanding the City Ordinance requires a maximum driveway width of 24 feet. This
maximum width can be varied up to 32 feet in width with the City Engineer's recommendations.
It is my understanding, from the site visit and discussion with you, that the largest vehicles
entering and exiting this driveway would likely be one ton trucks pulling trailers. Given the type
of operation I observed at the site I would certainly not recommend a 48 foot wide driveway.
However, I would recommend exceeding the city maximum of 24 feet to the allowable 32 foot
width.
If you have any questions regarding this information or would like me to meet with the property
owner regarding this issue, please call.
Sincerely,
Howard R.
