F
Vadnais Heights, MN. 55127
Re: WATERMAIN ALIGNMENT TO SERVE
PROPERTIES IN VADNAIS HEIGHTS AND
LITTLE CANADA
Dear Mr. Urban:
NO.082 P003
MAY 12 Egg)
As you are aware the City of Little Canada has the Twin Lake Pines plat before them at
this time for approval to develop and serve 14 new single family lots. The existing
8 "diameter water -main that is currently stubbed to the east property line of the new plat
(also the common city limits line between Vadnais Heights and Little Canada) was
intended to serve the Twin Lake Pines plat. During recent meetings and discussions with
Mr. Dave Hahn and you, there have been concerns indicated by Mr. Halm regarding
adequate water pressure and water quality if the 8" water main is extended and not
looped.
The options to serve the new plat would be: 1(Individual wells) 2)Service from the
Little Canada water -main located south of 1-694 3)Service from the existing 8" diameter
stub without looping at this time 4)Service by looping the existing 8" diameter water-
line through Little Canada and Vadnais Heights
The most economical and beneficial to more properties is option No. 4. This would
provide opportunity for existing homes to connect to city water in both cities and would
provide city water to the existing 5 Star Mobil Estates community.
We have enclosed a map of a potential water -main loop alignment for your review. We
are requesting that you evaluate this aligrunent and offer your comments to us at your
earliest convenience so that we may determine what our direction needs to be as we
proceed with the Twin Lakes Pines development.
Please call with any questions or clarification of the enclosed map.
Cc Joel Hansen, City of Little Canada
Page 29
Y.
Charles W.
