Neighborhood Meeting Minutes
Minnesota Avenue (Rice Street to Cobblestone Village)
November 17, 1998
The City of Little Canada was represented by Terry Maurer, City Engineer; Andy Brotzler,
Associate Engineer; Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director; and Joel Hanson, City
Administrator.
The meeting was convened at 5:30 p.m. with only Carl Schroeder present. Terry Maurer
reviewed his handout material dated November 17, 1998 (copy attached). Other major issues
discussed:
Terry Maurer emphasized business access will be accommodated during construction. He
indicated that driveways could be poured %z of the width at a time in order to maintain access.
This would be critical given the curing time of approximately five days before vehicles
should use the newly poured surface.
Mr. Schroeder acknowledged the road is in poor condition. The rate of assessment seemed
somewhat high to him.
The City Administrator mentioned that this is the first time we have used our commercial
assessment policy over an entire project. He stated that City Council may want to review the
rate generated by this policy to determine its appropriateness.
Information meeting was concluded.
Page 35
