Hanson <br />In order to comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act, the following amendments should <br />be made to the City's Personnel Policy. <br />SECTION 10 — OVERTIME & COMPENSATORY TIME (Page 13) <br />Elimination of the following language: This section is subject to the following <br />exception: An employee who works in different job functions within the <br />municipal service in both a full -time and part-time capacity shall not be entitled to <br />any overtime for work performed as a part-time employee until such employee's <br />total hours worked (both full and part-time) in a work week exceed forty -eight <br />(48) hours. Thereafter, such employee shall be entitled to pay at the rate of time <br />and one -half for all hours worked as a part- timer, which cause his /her total hours <br />to exceed forty -eight (48) hours, with payment of such overtime to be based on <br />his /her rate of pay as a part-time employee. <br />SECTION 13 — LEAVES WITH PAY (Pages 19 and 20) <br />Addition of the following language: <br />8. Sick leave cannot be combined with normally worked hours in a manner <br />that will generate overtime pay for the employee. <br />Page 8 <br />
