MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />August 6, 1998 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 6th day of August, 1998 <br />in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 East Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Roger Christensen chaired and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the Commission were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Roger Christensen <br />Mr. Matt Anderson <br />Ms. Muriel Bianchi <br />Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser <br />Mrs. Karen Johnson <br />Ms. Kathleen Smith <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Paula Schaefer, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Schabacker recommended that the minutes of the July 7, 1998 meeting be approved as <br />presented. <br />Sackett and Johnson wanted it noted that they both could have attended the July meeting had <br />the date not been changed from July 2 to July 7, 1998. <br />Motion seconded by Bianchi. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />ROUND LAKE Johnson stated that she had a concern that the Park Land Dedication Fund will be used up <br />HOUSE on buying of houses and there would not be anything left for park land. <br />ACQUISITION <br />Christiansen stated that the Commission has assurances from the City Council that if there <br />is a need, money will be transferred to the park fund. He added that the City would not pay <br />inflated prices for the homes they want to buy. He said that the people selling the homes are <br />facing assessments and that would be an incentive to sell at a fair price. <br />Christensen stated that it was before the Commission because the City Council would like <br />input concerning the acquisitions on Round Lake in regard to green space, walkways and <br />Page 1 <br />
