MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA August 6, 1998 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 6th day of August, 1998 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 East Little Canada Road in said City. Roger Christensen chaired and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the Commission were present at roll call: MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Roger Christensen Mr. Matt Anderson Ms. Muriel Bianchi Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser Mrs. Karen Johnson Ms. Kathleen Smith Mr. Robert Schabacker ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant Ms. Paula Schaefer, Recording Secretary MINUTES Schabacker recommended that the minutes of the July 7, 1998 meeting be approved as presented. Sackett and Johnson wanted it noted that they both could have attended the July meeting had the date not been changed from July 2 to July 7, 1998. Motion seconded by Bianchi. Motion carried 7 - 0. ROUND LAKE Johnson stated that she had a concern that the Park Land Dedication Fund will be used up HOUSE on buying of houses and there would not be anything left for park land. ACQUISITION Christiansen stated that the Commission has assurances from the City Council that if there is a need, money will be transferred to the park fund. He added that the City would not pay inflated prices for the homes they want to buy. He said that the people selling the homes are facing assessments and that would be an incentive to sell at a fair price. Christensen stated that it was before the Commission because the City Council would like input concerning the acquisitions on Round Lake in regard to green space, walkways and Page 1
