WHEREAS: <br />WHEREAS: <br />WHEREAS: <br />WHEREAS: <br />WHEREAS: <br />Proclamation <br />Cities are the gathering places for neighbors, families and friends, and provide the cornerstone <br />for creating and supporting the well -being of our communities; and <br />Aker natural disasters hit many of Minnesota's cities in recent months, citizens, alongside their <br />city officials, banded together to fight the rising rivers and clean up their communities; and <br />All communities, whether simply growing and changing or dealing with disaster, provide a forum <br />for citizens to reach out to each other. learn from each other, and sham ideas and resources; and <br />Citizens' involvement in their government is essential, from volunteering to serving in public <br />office, to simply understanding and caring about the goverurnent that is closest to the people; <br />and <br />Cities Wools 1998 -- Celebrating Cuing Communities — promotes the value of cities and the role <br />they play in developing communities and our home towns; <br />NOW THEREFORE, 1 ARNE H.
