the City's Personnel Policy. Schroeder may also participate in the "Opt -Out" program <br />provided for in Section 12 of the City's Personnel Policy on the same basis as other <br />employees. The City will provide Schroeder the same group life insurance coverage that is <br />provided to all other City employees through Public Employees Retirement Association, The <br />City further agrees to enroll Schroeder in long -term disability coverage effective the first full <br />month of employment in a manner consistent with other employees. The cost of long -term <br />disability coverage is Schroeder's responsibility. <br />8. DUES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS. The City will budget and pay the professional dues, <br />subscriptions, and licensure for Schroeder for his continued participation in national, <br />regional, state and local associations necessary and desirable for his continued professional <br />participation, growth and advancement and for the good of the City. Enrollment in these <br />organizations shall be reviewed and approved by the City Administrator. <br />9. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The City will budget and pay the travel (when not <br />using a City vehicle) and subsistence expenses of Schroeder for professional and official <br />travel for meetings and occasions adequate to continue the professional development of <br />Schroeder and to adequately pursue necessary official and other committees thereof which <br />employee serves as a member. Schroeder will use good judgment in his outside activities, so <br />he will not neglect his primary duties to the City. The City will also budget for and pay the <br />travel and subsistence expenses of Schroeder for short courses, or seminars necessary for his <br />professional growth and for the good of the City, as approved by the City Administrator. <br />10. TERMINATION AND SEVERANCE PAY. In the event that Schroeder is terminated by <br />the City during such time that Schroeder is willing and able to perform the duties of Public <br />Page 37 <br />
