Council also felt that anyone who had
applied for appointment to the Commission during the past year should be
contacted to determine if they wanted to be considered for this vacancy.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 98 -3 -71— INSTRUCTING STAFF TO
ADVERTISE THE VACANCY ON THE PARKS & RECREATION
COMMISSION
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (4) Morelan, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen.
Nays (0). As part of the renewal, Meredith will be upgrading
the cable system. Meredith is will be replacing some of its existing cable
and is proposing to replace overhead wires with overhead, and
underground wires with underground. Meredith is also proposing to leave
the abandoned wires in place. New overhead wires would be wrapped
around the old wires, and abandoned underground wires would remain
buried. The Deputy Clerk asked the Council for their position on this
issue in light of previous action requiring Brooks Fiber to install their
wires underground.
Page 17
