515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 <br />(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Kathy Glanzer, Deputy Clerk <br />DATE: April 2, 1998 <br />RE: Proposed Amendments to the Personnel Policy <br />Below I have listed proposed amendments to the City's Personnel Policy which are <br />merely housekeeping in nature: <br />All references to Public Works Superintendent should be amended to <br />"Public Works Director "; <br />Learning and Evaluation Period — "At the discretion of the City Ceaaell City <br />Administrator, the learning and evaluation period may be extended for an <br />additional six -month period." (Page 9) <br />MAYOR <br />Michael I. Fahey <br />COUNCIL <br />Beverly Scalze <br />Jim LaValle <br />Steve Morelan <br />Bob Pedersen <br />ADMINIS172ATOR <br />Joel R. Hanson <br />DISCIPLINARY ACTION. Hearing - In any case of suspension, dismissal, or <br />demotion, the Permanent Full -Time or Permanent Part-Time Employee shall be <br />granted a hearing upon written request for such a hearing made to the City <br />Administrator within five working days of notification of the action taken. <br />Employees in the Learning and Evaluation Period are not entitled to such a <br />hearing. (Page 36) <br />Sick Leave — "Employees may use two (2) days of their annual sick leave in <br />l.e,.t If 15 minute increments for doctor or dentist appointments for their own <br />medical and dental health care as well as for their children."
