MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />SEPTEMBER 13, 2012 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 13th day of <br />September, 2012 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Dan Knudsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Mr. Jon Hall <br />Ms. Jennifer Maleitzke <br />Ms. Heidi Murphy <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />MINUTES The July 12, 2012 Planning Commission meeting minutes were approved <br />as submitted. <br />CUP — James Johns, 3010 Edgerton Street, appeared before the Commission <br />3010 requesting a Conditional Use Permit to construct an addition onto his <br />EDGERTON — existing garage bringing his total garage space to 1,500 square feet. Johns <br />JAMES reported that he needs the additional garage space to store his antique <br />JOHNS tractors and cars. Johns described his site plan noting that the current <br />garage is 4 feet behind his house. While the existing garage is constructed <br />of brick, Johns stated that the new garage would have vinyl siding in a <br />color to match the color of the brick. Johns indicated that rather than <br />attach the new garage space to his existing garage, he would like to build a <br />second garage approximately 20 feet behind the existing garage. The <br />reason is that he would have about $5,000 in fill costs to attach the new <br />structure. Johns pointed out that the existing garage is four feet from the <br />side property line. The new garage would meet the City's 10 foot side <br />yard setback requirement. He also indicated that the new garage would be <br />no higher than the City's 15 foot height maximum. <br />'I'he City Planner pointed out that the Code only allows one detached <br />garage on a property. Johns stated that he would then attach the new <br />
