The railroad bridge carrying the DNR Gateway Trail will be permanently removed. The Gateway
Trail will be relocated onto the new Arlington Ave. bridge, so that the trail remains contiguous
across I -35E and will continue to function as it does today.
Please look at the final layout for details. MnDOT staff has worked with City and County staff to
make modifications to the lane, shoulder and sidewalk at the various local road crossings with the
exception of Little Canada Road where no work is occurring.
Good Faith Cost Estimate
At this time the City's cost participation for this project is zero dollars. MnDOT does not show that
there are any items that the City would have to pay for as of the date this project report was
submitted. For example, there are not any traffic signals, aesthetic treatments, additional lanes,
additional shoulders, or additional sidewalks that the City would need to participate in funding. At
this time there does not seem to be any reason to create a cooperative construction agreement
with the City.
City Maintenance Responsibilities
There are no changes in maintenance responsibilities for Little Canada Road within the I -35E right
of way, since there is no work occurring on Little Canada Road. There are no other added
maintenance responsibilities for the City as a result of this project. At this time there does not
seem to be any reason to create a cooperative construction agreement with the City.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this submittal.
Sincerely,
nnifer Read, P.E.
roject Manager
MnDOT Metro District
Enclosures:
Project Layout No. 1A, dated September 24, 2012
MnDOT Municipal Consent Guidance Document
Sample City Resolution
cc:
Joel Hanson — City of Little Canada City Administrator
Bill'Dircks — City of Little Canada Public Works Superintendent
Jerome Adams — MnDOT Metro District Design Build Engineer
Wayne Norris — MnDOT Metro District North Area Manager
An Equal Opportunity Employer
0 ^r
