2) Increase the hockey skill development of urban athletes <br />3) Provide training to nurture "total" athletic development <br />with technologies that can be inexpensively reinforced <br />daily throughout the year. <br />4) Create impact on social skills and academic achievement <br />in the quest to stimulate success beyond athletics by <br />preparing participants to develop their own vision to the <br />future. <br />Provide the most advanced training by employing <br />recognized authorities and instructors in the <br />field of player development. <br />Off -ice education and coaching that utilizes <br />dry-land facilities (i.e. in -line rinks), <br />emphasizes nutrition and conditioning and <br />focuses on simple and cost effective crossover <br />activities. <br />Provide informal classroom sessions led by <br />speakers and role models who will encourage <br />interaction and relationship building among the <br />staff. Time will be set aside to address pertinent <br />issues facing young women. <br />PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES <br />The staff for this six month program will involve both volunteer and paid coaches. The personnel selected <br />for both on and off ice training were invited based upon the impact they could create in conjunction with the <br />mission statement of the program.
