MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
APRIL 9, 1998
Montour asked if Mr. Kimmes would pay the cost of widening the road.
Mr. Kimmes stated that it was his understanding that he may have to pay
to widen the road if that is what the City requires.
Montour stated that he could go either way on the drainage issues, and
pointed out that the lot sizes meet the City's minimum requirements.
Montour stated that the Commission could recommend approval of the
Preliminary Plat, however, that recommendation would have to list several
conditions. Based on the issues raised by the neighbors, Montour felt it
was better to recommend denial. Montour stated that he could live with a
five -lot development if the street were widened to 24 feet with concrete
curb and gutter. However, Montour was not sure that was best for the
neighborhood.
Schletty stated that he supported a three -lot development.
Montour recommended denial of the Preliminary Plat known as Gilanderi
Addition consisting of five single- family residential lots as presented by
Mr. Dick Kimmes.
Motion seconded by Schletty.
Motion carried 4 — 3. (DeLonais, Carson, and Knudsen voted against.)
Knudsen agreed that there were some moving pieces in this proposal, and
stated that he found it difficult to vote either way. However, he was not
comfortable denying the Preliminary Plat on a lot of "what if's ".
TUFFY'S The Commission reviewed the application for reapproval of the property
PROPERTY division previously approved for the Tuffy's development on the
DIVISION Schroeder property on Rice Street. The approval of that property division
lapsed since it was not recorded within six months of approval.
Mr. Barraclough recommended reapproval of the Tuffy's subdivision
request for property located at approximately 2310 Rice Street subject to
compliance with the recommendations of the Planning Commission as
outlined in their previous approval dated June 12, 1997.
Motion seconded by Carson.
Motion carried 7 — 0.
Page 29
