MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JANUARY 8, 1998
ADJOURN
underground would not be compatible with the development planned or
because of unusual topography, soil or other physical conditions,
underground installation is not feasible from an engineering viewpoint, or
the cost thereof impractical.
It was pointed out that the Public Works Director has recommended
approval of the waiver based on the cost to the property owner.
Knudsen suggested that another criteria which is met is that underground
is incompatible with the area given the existence of numerous overhead
wires in this neighborhood.
Barraclough, Carson, and Montour expressed concern that when the area
to the north develops the City might be requested to allow overhead
service.
Mr. Knudsen recommended approval of a waiver from the requirement of
underground electrical service for 551 Allen Avenue based on the
recommendation of the Public Works Director.
Motion seconded by Schletty.
Motion carried 4 — 3. Barraclough, Carson, Montour voted against.
Knudsen recommended that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Carson.
Motion carried 7 — 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:10 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy GI. • er
Deputy Clerk
9
