MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 14, 2012
ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT
DONOVAN
CONSTRUCTION
NORTHEAST
REDEVELOP-
MENT AREA
The Council discussed with Bostrom their desire for enhanced
enforcement of the City's winter parking regulations. Bostrom indicated
that he would ensure that this enforcement is expanded. The Council also
raised the issue of the use of cameras for surveillance. Bostrom noted that
this issue is currently under study and he would keep the City updated on
the progress of this study.
The Council thanked Sheriff Bostrom for his presentation and noted their
appreciation of his willingness to communicate and work with the City.
The City Administrator updated the Council and his discussions with
Donovan Construction relative to the City's interest in the acquisition of
this property to assemble a redevelopment site. Donovan Construction is
currently having their property appraised. The Administrator indicated
that Donovan Construction has recently requested the City pay them a
value similar to what was paid for the Roseville Plumbing property. At
that time, City staff informed them that the Roseville Plumbing property
was a needed purchase. From a redevelopment standpoint of the area, the
project could not support that value. Council agreed. The Administrator
indicated that he would keep the Council informed as this matter moves
forward.
The Administrator reported that Gordie Howe was meeting with the
owners of 2945 LaBore Road to discuss acquisition of this property. If
acquired, the property would be combined with other parcels to provide
for single- family home development similar to that of Gervais Woods.
There being no further business, the workshop meeting was adjourned at
7:15 p.m.
Joel anson, City Administrator
2
