~EL~E~RIN~ &~ ~ASSO(I~AT~S <br />,au, noatu <br />Memo <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: Lee Elfering, City Engineer <br />DATE: March 26, 2008 <br />RE: Melancon Plat <br />The City is currently pursuing the replatting of the area around the Viking Drive <br />realignment to combine the remaining remnant parcels into iwo City owned lots and the <br />McDonaids lot. This process was started prior to the street reconstruction when Sunde <br />Landsurveying was hired based on a submitted proposal for the work. When Sunde <br />submitted their proposal for replatting they were already completing work on the <br />McDonalds site and a significant amount of the field work was already completed. <br />During the platting process an error was discovered in the original quitclaim deed <br />provided by Mn/DOT for the turnback of the Viking Drive frontage road right-of-way. The <br />correction of this error is nearly complete, but has taken additional research and <br />coordination with Mn/DOT and the Ramsey County recorders office. <br />Sunde Landsurveying has submitted a request for additional funds in the amount of <br />$2,550.00 for the completion of the plat due to this additional work increasing the total <br />cost to $6,450.00.
