MINUTES CITY COUNCIL APRIL 9, 2008 Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2008-4-102 -APPROVAL OF THEABATEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITYAND KATHERINE HAMALAINENAND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. VFD FOR The City Administrator reviewed the City Engineer's letter dated PIONEER Apri19, 2008 recommending installation of a variable frequency drive PARK and transducer to monitor the pressure in the irrigation system at Pioneer IRRIGATION Park. The Administrator reported that irrigation system breaks have been SYSTEM occurring in the system due to instantaneous high pressure that is put on the system every time the well pump turns on at the beginning of the irrigation cycle. The variable frequency drive will allow the start up and shut down of the pump gradually to minimize any water hammer within the system and the transducer will monitor the pressure to ensure it is constant during the irrigation cycle. Only one quote was received for this equipment from Connelly Industrial Electronics in the amount of $4,707.52. A second company indicated that they did not submit a quote as they knew they would not be lower than Connelly Electronics. Mr. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2008-4-103 -AWARDING THE QUOTE OF CONNELLYINDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS FOR PIONEER PARK IRRIGATION SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $4, 707.52 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ENGINEER The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
