Included in this discussion has been passenger vehicles, recreational
vehicles, recreational equipment, and general storage of household equipment or
materials. As the discussion has continued, more issues have been included, and it has
become apparent that a more comprehensive approach to parking and storage would
be helpful.
To accomplish this, staff has assembled a series of photographs of representative
conditions throughout the community. To assist in thinking about how these items might
be regulated, two exhibits have been prepared — one is a graphic representation of
residential property, and the types of parking and /or storage may be appropriate in
different locations on each parcel. The second exhibit is a table, related to the graphic,
which identifies the various locations on a parcel as columns in the table (front
driveway, side yard, etc.), and the categories of storage or parking (passenger vehicles,
recreational vehicles, etc.) as the rows.
The table lays out the various classes of vehicles, equipment, and materials commonly
encountered on residential property, cross - referencing them with the various locations
on property where each class of items may be kept, and under what conditions.
Accompanying this table would be one or more diagrams that would illustrate the
locations and requirements identified in the chart.
1
