He also suggested to the property owners present that they could <br />draft suggested language that they would present to the Council. <br />Rossow felt that the City Planner was extremely qualified and would be <br />better at putting the language together than any of the I-1 property owners. <br />Rossow also felt that the issue should be kept moving forward and <br />requested that the Commission make a recommendation to the Council this <br />evening. <br />Knudsen agreed and noted that the City is trying to balance the big picture <br />with the needs of the business. <br />Duray suggested that before the April 23`d Council meeting, City staff <br />research whether or not the Deeb hailers are grandfathered in. <br />Knudsen recommended approval of the amendments to Chapter 914, Light- <br />Industrial (I-1) Zoning District as recommended by the City Planner with <br />the recommendation that the interpretation of outdoor storage as an <br />accessory use be broadened to allow the lease of property for outdoor <br />storage to other Little Canada businesses located in the I-1 or I-P Zoning <br />Districts, on a year-to-year basis, with there to be no code issues on either <br />property during that timeframe, with the number of outdoor storage leasees <br />that a property can having being limited to a number between one and five, <br />and with all other provision governing outdoor storage to be complied with, <br />noting that the Planning Commission is making this recommendation in the <br />spirit of cooperation with businesses who have done an upstanding job in <br />the way that they have conducted their business. <br />Motion seconded by Duray <br />Motion can•ied 5 - 1. Socha voted against. <br />Socha stated that she was voting against as she felt that action on the <br />ordinance should be tabled at this time with a final draft presented to the <br />Commission for consideration at its next meeting. <br />The Planner suggested that in modifying the ordinance to address the <br />recommendation of the Commission, he may create an additional clause for <br />off-site outdoor storage. The Planner indicated that he would get a draft to <br />the City so that it can be mailed to I-1 property owners prior to the April <br />23`d Council meeting. <br />PUD The City Planner reported that Marilyn Montreux has applied for a <br />PERMIT PUD Permit to allow the interim use of a commercial property for a <br />FOR private auto repair hobbyist at 2968 Rice Street.
