MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 23, 2013 <br />FUNDING FOR <br />WATERSHED <br />DISTRICT'S <br />WATER FEST <br />TELEVISING <br />PARKS & <br />REC <br />COMM. <br />MEETINGS <br />The City Administrator noted that the Watershed's Water Fest event <br />provides educational outreach relative to storm water run -off and <br />treatment options. Given this educational outreach, the Administrator <br />recommended that the Water Fest event be included as part of the City's <br />Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP). He further <br />recommended that the City provide $500 in funding for Water Fest to help <br />defray some of the Watershed's costs with this event. <br />Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -1 -17— AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF U00 <br />TO THE WATERSHED DISTRICT RELATIVE TO THE CITY'S <br />REQUIRED SWPPP EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROVIDED BY <br />WATER FEST <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />McGraw stated that it was his opinion that City business should be <br />conducted in a public setting. Therefore, he recommended that the <br />Parks & Recreation Commission meetings should be broadcast on the <br />City's Cable TV channel. Keis noted that the Commission assists in <br />the decision - making process relative to expenditures of public money. <br />Therefore, he agreed that the Commission meetings should be televised. <br />Montour agreed, and pointed out that one of the goals discussed at the <br />Goal Setting Session was to expand the City's offerings on Cable TV. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -1 -18 — DECLARING THAT THE PARKS <br />AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETINGS WILL BE <br />BROADCAST ON THE CITY'S CABLE TV CHANNEL BEGINNING <br />WITH THE MARCH 7, 2013 COMMISSION MEETING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
