MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
PLANNING COMMISSION
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
MARCH 13, 1997
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning
Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 13th
day of March, 1977 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at
515 Little Canada Road in said City.
Chairman Gene DeLonais called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the
following members of the Commission were present at roll call:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Gene DeLonais, Chair
Mr. John Keis
Mr. Dan Knudsen
Mr. Rick Montour
Mr. Fred Schletty
MEMBERS EXCUSED: Mr. Scott Barraclough
Mr. Dennis Carson
MINUTES Knudsen pointed out that the resolution on page 4 of the minutes was
seconded by Carson. With that correction, the minutes of the February 26,
1997 meeting stood approved.
CUP FOR Truman Howell, architect representing Knox Lumber, appeared before the
KNOX Commission requesting approval of a Conditional Use Permit to amend
LUMBER the Knox Lumber PUD to allow for construction of a permanent
framework structure. Howell reported that the initial application also
included a temporary planthouse structure. However, that structure has
now been eliminated from the request. The framework structure will
consist of steel tubing which will be permanently installed, as well as a
shade cloth which will be attached to the tubing. The shade cloth will be
up during the time period that plants will be for sale from this area.
The Commission discussed the time period which should be established
for plant sales from this framework structure. It was the consensus of the
Commission that the time period should be from April 1s` of each year to
November 1s`. This was agreeable to Mr. Howell as well.
The Commission discussed the reference in the Planner's report to
setbacks. Mr. Howell indicated that with the elimination of the temporary
planthouse structure, all required setbacks would be met.
Page 9
