Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Ramsey County Public Works Department 1997 - 1999 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
has tentatively scheduled County Road D from Edgerton to LaBore as a recycle project for 1997.
This project will also include installing a right turn lane on westbound County Road D to
northbound Edgerton and paving both shoulders. The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
has also identified County Road D from Edgerton to LaBore as a reconstruction project tentatively
scheduled for the year 2002 +/- (see attached).
On March 11, 1997, I met with representatives of Ramsey County (Tim Mayasich and Dan Schacht)
and Marty Walsh with the City of Vadnais Heights to discuss options for County Road D. The
options we identified and discussed are as follows:
1. Do nothing except routine maintenance until the road comes up for reconstruction in
2002 + / -. It will be upgraded to an urban typical section at that time. (See attached
sheet for estimated costs. City costs would be split between Vadnais Heights and Little
Canada.)
2. Recycle the road from Edgerton to LaBore, pave both shoulders and install the right
hand turn lane at Edgerton and County Road D (see attached sheets).
3. Patch the street, do some thin overlays in the worst areas (approximately 10% of the
street) and seal coat the street.
4. Option three, plus pave both shoulders.
Option one keeps us in the scheduled program for year 2002 + / -, but does nothing to improve
drainage or the safety of the road (Little Canada estimated cost = 0).
1
Page 59
