Ramsey County Department of Public Health
April 18, 1997
Page 2
since the park's creation back in 1971. Enclosed is a copy of the City of Little Canada's
ordinance adopted on December 18, 1996. We consider the existence of units not in
conformance with provisions of this ordinance to be classified as lawfully existing non-
conforming uses.
We would further request that Ramsey County formally ask the State of Minnesota to evaluate
the appropriateness of the ten -foot setback requirement of mobile home units from adjacent
parking given the dramatic changes in construction standards for mobile homes since the
adoption of this provision back in 1951. Given the fact that the State of Minnesota has not
enforced this provision to -date and that there are a number of mobile home parks which appear
to violate this provision, this provision should be evaluated as to its appropriateness and
necessity.
Thank you for considering our position on this matter. Should you have any comments or
questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Hanson
ty Administrator
JRH:kpv
cc: Mr. John M. Konek
Page 61
