515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
April 4, 1997
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Rice Street/Little Canada Road Redevelopment
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Enclosed are the submittals received from Laurent Parks and Wall Companies. You also
have a copy of the letter sent to them for additional information. We expect to be in
receipt of these materials by the close of business on Tuesday, and will have our analysis
ready for you by Wednesday evening.
After reviewing these materials, we will need to decide upon the final step(s) in the
selection process. You may want to consider requesting additional information, a formal
presentation by the prospective developers, or making a decision based on the
information you already have. I have provided for time at the Council meeting to take
whatever actions are necessary to finalize this process.
I have been unsuccessful in finding a city staff person experienced in economic
redevelopment who is available for Wednesday's meeting. Mr. Sid Inman of Ehlers &
Associates, who is very experienced in this field, will be present to fill this void.
In the meantime, if you have comments or questions, please let me know and we will try
to have appropriate responses ready for Wednesday's meeting.
cc: Rusty Fifield, Ehlers & Associates
Michael Schroeder, Hoisington Koegler
Page 1
