MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 8, 1997 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 8th <br />day of May, 1997 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chairman Gene DeLonais called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the <br />following members of the Commission were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Gene DeLonais <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Fred Schletty <br />MEMBERS EXCUSED: Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Dennis Carson <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer, Admin. Asst. <br />MINUTES There being no corrections to the minutes of the April 10, 1997 meeting, <br />those minutes stood approved as submitted. <br />PROPERTY Mr. Dick Boss appeared before the Commission representing Jim Boss <br />DIVISION — in his application for the division of property located at 749 LaBore <br />749 LABORE Road into two single - family lots. Boss reported that all City Codes <br />ROAD would be complied with as relate to minimum lot sizes and setbacks. <br />easassw <br />Montour asked if the existing deck would meet setback requirements. The <br />City Planner replied that it appears the deck will have a five -foot setback <br />from the side property line. Given this house existed prior to 1981, a five <br />foot setback is acceptable even if the deck is converted into an enclosed <br />porch. <br />It was noted that the house has a LaBore Road address, and suggested that <br />the deck extends into the rear yard, not the side yard. The Planner replied <br />that the Code defines the front as the side of the lot with the shortest <br />Page 7 <br />
