NFAC
MEMORANDUM
NORTHWEST ASSOCIATED CONSULTANTS
COMMUNITY PLANNING - DESIGN - MARKET RESEARCH
TO: Little Canada Mayor and City Council
Little Canada Planning Commission
FROM: Daniel Licht / Stephen Grittman
DATE: 5 June 1997
RE: Little Canada - Home Occupation Ordinance Amendment
FILE NO.: 758.10 - 97.08
At the direction of the City Council, we have prepared an amendment to the Zoning
Ordinance that would make renewals of Home Occupation licences an administrative
permit process versus the current procedure of processing these renewal requests through
the public hearing process at the Planning Commission and approval of the City Council.
If adopted, renewal of home occupation permits would be subject to review and approval
of the Zoning Administrator. The proposed ordinance amendment does provide the Zoning
Administrator with the option of requiring a renewal application to go to a public hearing
and receive approval of the City Council in cases where the City has received written
complaints, cited violations or where conditions have changed.
The time period for which the initial permit and subsequent renewals are effective has not
been changed.
Attached for Reference:
Exhibit A:
Exhibit B:
Draft Ordinance
Signature Ordinance
pc.
