Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Thank you for your letter dated July 8, 1997. I reviewed the situation on -site and I agree that the
retaining wall is in need of attention. The problem I see with the City reconstructing the
retaining wall is that it appears the majority, if not all, of the wall is located on private property.
(Location of property corners or a survey would clarify the exact location of the wall in relation
to the road right -of -way.)
As of today, I cannot recommend to the Council that we participate in reconstruction of this wall.
Perhaps with further discussion, we can find a solution that is mutually satisfactory. I would be
interested in learning more about your position regarding this matter.
I will wait to hear from you.
Hanson
Administrator
JRH:kpv
cc: Mayor & City Council
Tom Sweeney, City Attorney
Scott Tangen, Public Works Director
Page 54
