MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 23, 1995 <br />VARIANCE TO <br />ALLOW <br />OUTDOOR <br />PARING OF <br />OVERSIZED <br />TRUCK - <br />2570 JACKSON - <br />WAHLBERG <br />VACATION OF <br />A PORTION <br />OF JACKSON <br />STREET <br />Fahey opened the public hearing to consider a variance <br />to allow outdoor parking of a truck which exceeds <br />12,000 pounds gross vehicle weight in an R -2 Zoning <br />District as requested by William and Sandra Wahlberg <br />for property located at 2570 Jackson Street. Fahey <br />pointed out that both the City Planner and Planning <br />Commission have recommended denial of the request. It <br />was pointed out at the Planning Commission meeting that <br />the applicants have the option of raising an existing <br />garage so the truck could be parked indoors. <br />There was no one present from the general public <br />wishing to comment on this matter. <br />Upon motion by Scalze, seconded by LaValle, the public <br />hearing was closed. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />j{ RESOLUTION NO. 95 -8 -196 — `DENYING THE REQUEST)FOR <br />VARIANCE TO ALLOW OUTDOOR PARKING OF A TRUCK WHICH <br />EXCEEDS 12,000 POUNDS GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT IN AN R -2 <br />ZONING DISTRICT AS REQUESTED BY WILLIAM AND SANDRA <br />WAHLBERG FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2570 JACKSON STREET <br />BASED ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY PLANNER AS <br />CONTAINED IN HIS REPORT DATED JULY 4, 1995 AND BASED ON <br />THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (1) LaValle.
