LITTLE CANADA
PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT
515 Little Canada Road / Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
Telephone: (612) 484 -2177 / Fax: 484-4538
JIM MORELAN, Director
DON BOWMAN, Program Coordinator
DEREK ANDERSON, Program Coordinator
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director
DATE: September 9, 1997
RE: Summer Concerts at Spooner Park
Attached is a report on the 1997 summer concerts that was compiled by Muriel Bianchi of the
Parks and Recreation Commission. Muriel spent a lot of time and effort on the promotion of the
concert series, and should be commended for that effort. One additional expense that she was
not aware of is the cost of a sign that we put up at the park entrance during the day of each
concert. The sign cost $43 and brings the total expenditures to $623 for the four concerts.
It is my opinion from working with Muriel on this project, and from attending and talking to
people at all of the concerts, that there is enough interest in the community to continue the
concert series in 1998. I would concur with the Parks and Recreation Commission's request for
$1,000 for next year to fund this project.
JM:kv
Enclosure
Page 22
