2QNDTES
crTY COUNCIL
MAY 24, 1995
LAND
AVAILABILITY —
BOARD OF
WATER
COMMISSIONERS
OLD FIRE
STATION
RENOVATION
The City Administrator reported the Sheriff's
Department is making the request. The Administrator
suggested the City Attorney review the City's existing
ordinance as well as the Shoreview Ordinance to
determine what the differences are and if one would
better handle the problem..
Fahey suggested City staff discuss with the Sheriff's
Department what their concerns might be. It was
pointed out that the new Sheriff's Department commander
would be appearing at a future Council meeting to
introduce himself. This matter could be discussed at
that time.
The City Administrator reported that the Board of
Water Commissioners is considering the sale of
property lying within the City, and have asked for
the City's comments. The Administrator recommended
that the Park & Recreation Commission and Planning
Commission review the matter and comment to the
ouncil. The Council would then in turn comment to the
Board of Water Commissioners.
Scalze suggested the City inform McKesson Drug and
Vincent Metals of this proposal asking for comments,
since their properties are adjacent to the two sites.
It was pointed out that both sites are zoned B -3.
The City Administrator suggested that it may be
advantageous for the Council to look at the zoning of
the properties before any sale might occur.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 95 -5 -144 - FORWARDING THE PROPOSAL OF
(/ THE BOARD OF WATER COMMISSIONERS TO SELL PROPERTY
WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA TO THE PARK &
RECREATION COMMISSION AND PLANNING COMMISSION FOR
COMMENT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
The City Administrator reviewed his memo dated May 19th
updating the Council on the old fire station
renovation.
Page 5
