STOP SIGN PETITION <br />It is our opinion that a substantial increase of traffic on Allen Ave. will result once the new extension to <br />Centerville Rd. is completed. Currently Labore Rd has an all -way stop at Desoto St. between Edgerton <br />and Centerville Rd. This is a much traveled county road that is wider, which was designed and built, to <br />accommodate larger amounts of traffic than a residential road such as Alien Ave. We do not consider or <br />desire Allen Ave. to be a non -stop corridor between Edgerton and Centerville Rd. Nor do we believe <br />that it was originally designed and built to be such. It is also a fact that since Desoto St. connected <br />Allen Ave. to Labore Rd., a considerable increase in the amount of traffic has resulted which has <br />tarnished this once quiet neighborhood. As residents on or near Allen Ave. in Little Canada, we object <br />to the removal of the stop sign at the intersection of Alien Ave. and Desoto St.. We also have serious <br />concerns about the safety of school -age children negotiating the additional traffic as they peregrinate to <br />and from the school bus stops. Furthermore, based on the written reports from the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff's department and the Little Canada Public Works Director, we the undersigned are also strongly <br />in favor of an all -way stop at the aforementioned intersection. We are hereby asking the council <br />members of the city to consider this petition and honor our request on or before the completion of the <br />Allen Ave. extension. <br />/lit /1,13n/ S.
