MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MAY 9, 1996 <br />ARCHITECTURAL <br />GUIDELINES - <br />REMAINING B -3 <br />AREAS OF THE <br />CITY <br />ADJOURN <br />Carson recommended the Architectural Guidelines be <br />amended to allow freestanding /pylon signs to be backlit <br />while retaining the prohibition of backlit signs on <br />buildings, and instructing the City Planner to amend <br />the language in the Architectural Guidelines to reflect <br />this. <br />Motion seconded by Knudsen. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />The Commission and City Planner reviewed the <br />Architectural Elements and Streetscape Elements of <br />the Architectural Guidelines in detail. Specific <br />policies and regulations which should be retained or <br />modified and then applied to the remaining 8 -3 areas of <br />the City outside of the Rice Street /Little Canada Road <br />redevelopment area were identified. <br />The City Planner indicated that he would take the input <br />provided this evening and incorporate it into a draft <br />guideline for the Commission to review and discuss at <br />its next meeting. <br />Knudsen recommended the meeting be adjourned. <br />Motion seconded by Carson. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 8:45 P.M. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />cVV "- <br />Kathy Glanzer <br />Administrative Assistant <br />5 <br />Page 81 <br />
