MINUTES
PARK COMMISSION
MARCH 15, 1990
HANDICAPPED
ACCESSABLE
PARK STREET
TAX FORFEIT
PROPERTIES
TURNQUIST
PROPERTY
ADJOURN
Sanders pointed out that the tennis courts in Pioneer
Park will be handicapped accessable. Sanders also
reported that Code does not require an elevator for
access to the upper floor of the recreation building
proposed for Pioneer Park.
The Commission reviewed the staff report on the
properties in the Park Street area which are tax
forfeit. The Commission noted that these are the same
properties which it reviewed last fall, recommending at
that time that they be acquired by the City. However,
the City Council took the position that they be put
back on the tax rolls.
The Commission was unsure as to what the designations
of conservation and non - conservation meant and asked
for a clarification on that point.
The Commission reviewed the fact that Lots 2, 3, and 4
appear to be wetland and felt they should be retained
as wetland. The Commission asked if it were necessary
for the City to obtain the deed for these parcels in
order to assure that they remain wetland.
Sanders expressed concern with the filling of the
former Turnquist property, stating that he hoped that
the whoever is filling does not begin to fill on the
opposite side of the driveway in the wetland area.
Scalze reported that the property is owned by Ron
Palmen who hopes to develop approximately 10
single - family lots in the area. Mr. Palmen does have a
fill permit. Scalze did not believe that Mr. Palmen
owned the wetland area that Sanders was referring to.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
Resp- ctfully submitted,
Kathy G o nzer
Recording Secretary
Page 4
Page 14
