MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 8, 2026
The Assistant City Administrator reviewed the progress made on the different strategic
initiatives. The City Administrator provided more information on timeline adjustments for
different initiatives.
Mayor Fischer stated that he recognizes these timelines are more of a guide and would only have
concerns if moving these timelines has any bigger impacts on progress or budgets. The City
Administrator confirmed that none of these changes are problematic. He noted that most items
within the Strategic Plan are moving ahead of schedule, recognizing that it is a five-year plan.
Mayor Fischer asked if the Al policy would include a usage model of how the tool can be used and
also restrictions. The City Administrator stated that the City currently does not have such a
policy and confirmed that the policy would include how the tool should and should not be used.
He noted that the next quarterly update will be provided in October.
Kwapick recognized the progress they have been able to accomplish in the last year.
COUNCIL REPORTS AND MEETING UPDATES
Malone stated that the majority of the Council recently attended the League of Minnesota Cities
conference and provided a brief update.
Miller also provided updates on things he learned at the conference.
Kwapick stated that the previous day he attended a meeting with Mayor Fischer, the City
Administrator, and Assistant City Administrator to discuss legislative asks for the City. He noted
that they will be creating a legislative subcommittee to create a legislative plan that can be used
each year to engage and make requests of the legislature. He noted the 4t" Annual Little Canada
Food Drive that will occur during the Ice Cream Social and encouraged residents to bring non-
perishable food items to donate. He commented that for those gardening, a local organization
will accept fresh produce donations as well as clothing and food supplies.
Mayor Fischer provided additional input on his experience at the conference. He thanked the
staff and Council, noting the positive comments he received about the community.
0 •
There being no further business, upon motion by Miller, seconded by Kwapick, the meeting
was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
Thomas Fischer, Mayor
Attest:
Heidi Heller, City Clerk
0
