<br /> 2601-5 <br />1. Electric-assisted bicycles shall comply with all applicable provisions of Minnesota <br />Statutes. <br /> <br />2. Class 1 and Class 2 electric-assisted bicycles may be operated on paved shared-use <br />trails and bicycle facilities where conventional bicycles are permitted unless <br />otherwise posted. <br /> <br />3. Class 3 electric-assisted bicycles and multiple-mode electric-assisted bicycles shall <br />be operated only where permitted under Minnesota Statutes and City regulations. <br /> <br />4. No person shall operate an electric-assisted bicycle on natural or artificial turf, <br />playgrounds, athletic fields, athletic courts, ice rinks, beaches, park buildings or <br />structures, natural areas or any location posted prohibiting bicycle use. <br /> <br />5. Operators shall ride in a prudent, careful, and controlled manner and shall yield the <br />right-of-way to pedestrians, provide an audible signal before overtaking pedestrians <br />when practical, maintain a safe speed appropriate for existing conditions, and <br />always maintain reasonable control of the bicycle. <br /> <br />6. Any operator or passenger under eighteen (18) years of age shall wear a properly <br />fitted bicycle helmet meeting applicable federal safety standards. <br /> <br />7. No person under fifteen (15) years of age shall operate an electric-assisted bicycle <br />except as otherwise authorized under Minnesota law. <br /> <br />8. Electric-assisted bicycles that exceed the classifications established under <br />Minnesota Statutes, including devices commonly marketed as "e-motos," shall not <br />be operated in City parks, trails, or shared-use paths unless otherwise permitted by <br />law. <br /> <br /> 2601.XXX. MICROMOBILITY DEVICES <br /> <br />1. Micromobility devices may be operated only where bicycles are permitted unless <br />otherwise posted. <br /> <br />2. No person shall operate a micromobility device on playground equipment, athletic <br />courts, athletic fields, natural areas, park buildings, park shelters, state trunk <br />highways, or any location where posted as prohibited. <br /> <br />3. Operators shall yield to pedestrians at all times. <br /> <br />4. Operation shall be conducted in a careful and prudent manner. <br /> <br /> 2601.XXX. CARLESS OR RECKLESS OPERATION.
