MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 8, 1995 <br />The City Administrator pointed out that in the past <br />this has been typically handled through a written <br />request. <br />Pedersen was concerned with the appearance of the <br />Market Place site, and felt that some smoothing out of <br />the former Pizza Hut and Burger King lots was <br />necessary. <br />The City Administrator reported that the City has <br />raised some code enforcement issues with the Market <br />Place, and they have addressed some of the concerns. <br />Fahey pointed out that once long -term leases can be <br />finalized, the value of the property will increase. <br />TCF feels that the lack of long -term leases as well as <br />the Mover's Warehouse lawsuit have affected TCF's <br />ability to sell the property. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 95 -3 -76 - EXTENDING THE VARIANCE <br />APPROVAL FOR FREE - STANDING SIGN AT THE MARKET PLACE <br />/SHOPPING CENTER FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR AS REQUESTED <br />BY TEAM PROPERTIES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaVaile. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaVaile, Morelan, Pedersen, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Council discussed the City Administrator's <br />recommendation that the $7,500 deposit made by the <br />Venetian Development Corporation be returned since the <br />City has no contractual agreement with the <br />organization, nor is one eminent in the future. <br />Gary Collyard, The Venetian Development Corporation, <br />reported that in the last couple of weeks he has <br />approached the City Council in the form of workshop <br />meetings with the Welsh Company as a development <br />partner that would be executing letters of intent. <br />Collyard stated that in his line of thinking, it has <br />taken a long time to put this together, but not as long <br />as compared to other developments. Collyard pointed <br />out the many hours of efforts and thousands of dollars <br />that The Venetian Development Corporation has spent in <br />putting together the Gateway Project.
