515 Little Canada Road,; Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / 1'AX; 1612) 484 -4538
January 18, 1996
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, Administrative Assistant
RE: City Administrator's Salary Increase
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
At the request of the Mayor, attached is salary information,
including comparisons, for the position of City Administrator.
Please note that at the bottom of this sheet is information from
the Stanton Report for the City Manager /Administrator position
for Groups Our Size (populations under 10,000) as well as the
Next Group (populations between 10,000 and 25,000). You will
note that the Next Group contains some cities which we commonly
compare ourselves - North St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Mounds View,
and Vadnais Heights. Also, given that Little Canada's population
is over 9,000, I felt it was appropriate to look at the Next
Group. Therefore, I have averaged the data of the two groups,
which resulted in an Average Minimum salary for the position of
$51,400 and an Average Maximum of $64,400.
Based on this analysis and the fact that other department heads
have received 2.5% increases for 1996, the Mayor is recommending
that the City Administrator's salary be increased by 2.5% for
1996.
Page 47
